Hello!

Currently going through a unnecessarily hard divorce since jan 201 9(no kids no assets) but ex has been refusing to cooperate through the process. I have just waited 5 months to have CB consent order approved. Applied for absolute by post on Monday day (online journey turned off due to ex crazy letters to court!!!) does anyone have any recent experience with how long they take?? Getting so impatient. I feel I’m so close but so so scared ex is going to throw another spanner in!!

Thank you

Sorry to hear what you’ve been going through. I got my absolute 6 weeks and 1 day after the nisi, which as I understand it is the earliest legally possible. I’m not sure what covid has done to wait times but (can you tell I feel your pain?!) I called the court to ask for an update (rather than be charged even more to speak with my solicitor) and they were very helpful.

Good luck OP, I appreciate it’s tough and nerve-wracking when expecting curveballs but: deep breaths. You will get there soon, and you will be free—keep the faith Smile

The Absolute usually only takes a few days, should be with you any day now.

Very little your ex can do now.

@Alfierock did this come through eventually? I'm waiting for mine too sent 2 weeks ago. Fingers crossed for you. :)

Hello! Yes it came through on dec 21st. I kept on calling and asking for updates. Some reason they had posted it to another court by mistake!!
Yours is probably slower because of all the bank holidays.
If it’s not in tomorrow’s post, maybe give them a call!

@Alfierock Great news! Thanks for making my day :) I was expecting the pandemic to mean it takes weeks.
