I broke up with my ex a few months ago after 7 years together, he didn’t do anything wrong but I felt we had been drifting apart for months and weren’t in love anymore. He recently confessed to me that he’s struggling and “wants to sleep forever” and basically can’t function without me. I know breaking up was for the best but I feel worried about him and responsible for all this pain. He doesn’t have a huge support network, I messaged his brother and asked him to keep checking in on him. I want to be there for him but I don’t think it’s healthy for either of us for me to be the one to emotionally prop him up. How do I deal with all this guilt I’m feeling though?
