I have 2 teenage DC. One stayed full time with dad the other does 50/50 after he kicked me out because she couldn't cope with change well but wanted to be fair.
Exh bought me out as soon as the solicitor explained on no uncertain terms that he couldn't just give my share of FMH to the kids and I bought a 2 bed - wanted 3 but couldn't get the mortgage and after ds said he was not moving with me to them couldn't get larger shared ownership place.
Fast forward 2 years and he has a DP whom he has been with 6-9 months. He now has FMH on the market and wants to move in with new DP and her kids with little thought for his own family.
I only have a 2 bed so not ideal for both but could convert the lounge or maybe even the garage.
Other than making it very clear they are welcome to move in with me is there anything we can do to protect the kids?
