Ladies, could someone please explain to me how this Universal Credit work in terms of childcare. I just need to decide what is better for me -keep using TFC (20% top up by the government) or apply through UC.
I went through 3 different calculation site and despite I work full time but leave in rather deprive area of UK (so wages are generally low) so with bringing home 1500 and paying for mortgage 400 by myself and all childcare costs (as breakfast+afterschool club and holidays camp) and saving less than 6k the calculation said only get £35 a week for childcare -that is ALL. Does it sound right? And I will have to submit my childcare costs all the time and I reckon as well my bank statement seems to be a lot of hassle for peanuts. I might be better off keep paying through TFC. Could someone clarify to me please?

Hi op. There’s a website called universal credit essentials, they also have a Facebook group. There calculator is very accurate ignore the other websites. It has step by step instructions so you can add all your elements together and make the correct deductions
