Hi I am just looking for advice on what would happen if I split with husband in regards to our living arrangements??

Married 8 years, two children age 11 & 16 one disabled.
We have a joint mortgage, he earns £50,000 a year I earn 11,000 and get disability allowance for my child.

Can I stay in the house with the children, I’ve read somewhere about staying in the house until the youngest leaves full time education? Is that correct?

I move already worked out I can afford to independently pay the mortgage but I don’t earn enough to buy husband out or be a sole mortgage holder....

Any advice pls??

Instead of a mesher order, look into a martin order so the house is yours for
much longer than when the youngest turns 18.

As I understand it it's not an automatic right, you'd have to negotiate it with him. Are the children his?

It's a common myth, but not an entitlement. How could it be, for instance if you both lost your jobs who would pay the mortgage? However, it is a common aspiration and can sometimes be achieved depending on what other assets there are, and what the two of you might be able to agree. As a starter, does he have a pension and what is it worth? Could that be traded for other assets??
