Financial and Consent orders - what's the difference?

What is the difference between a Consent Order and a Financial Order? I am filing for divorce online and the form asks if I want to apply for one. Due to financial restraints we are not using solicitors as we have no children and have agreed on assets. Any help or guidance would be helpful as this is all new territory for me!

It's still worth getting the financial split agreed formally. If you don't do that either one if you can go back in time and say you want more.

I did my own divorce and filled my own form e and then just got solicitor to draft the final order which we signed.

So Form E would be the one which deals with the financial agreement of the divorce?

I think form e was what we each completed and then that was drafted into a consent order which goes to judge.

I have just found this excellent video to guide you through filling in Form e without a solicitor.

I am currently going through the same thing - DIY divorce as we can't afford lawyers. We have children though but seem to be agreeable on most things.

That's great thank you so much!
