Hi
Can anyone help? Feeling bit overwhelmed
Me and ex been separated for a few years. Now I want a divorce.
We have no assets or custody issues and it is fairly amicable.
What is cheapest way to do it?
I've looked at gov website? Is this a good option?
Also I receive WTC so wondered if I'd get a discount.
Any advice appreciated Smile

Gov website very easy for the divorce itself.

If you can do the consent order yourself, if it’s simple then just do it yourself! My ex got a solicitor to do ours, as his parents insisted as they were buying me out of the house, whereas I put through the divorce Through on the gov website.

I did all of mine online but I hired a solicitor to draw up a cast iron clean break order which was £800. This is essential in my view. A friend of mine is currently going through hell as her husband refused to sign the consent order and she has inherited a house which he is now after. Court fees so far £30,000. Even if you have nothing now you may have in the future and it needs to be protected.

We did all ours via the government website. There was no issues with separation of assets or childcare so all straightforward. It was a very simple process.
