Didn't know he could get so petty

Wow, divorce brings out the best in people. My husband wants my wedding jewellery which was gifted to me, or half of it. Also my father paid the deposit on our house but he isn't planning to give that back when the house is sold. I need to speak to my lawyer but anyone had experience with this? He's always made fun of me for getting handouts from parents but is willing to take half of the deposit money which was never his.

My soon to be ex ( cant wait) was very petty when we were married and has now gone beyond any sort of reasonable behaviour with his pettiness. I have tried reasoning, shouting, being polite, screaming, I have just decided now to cut myself off from him. The biggest thing I have learnt over the past year is to look at things in a black and white manner. use a starting point of 50/50 for all assets and debts and go from their. My family too have helped out over the years, whilst receiving nothing from his family - its rubbish but you just have to let it go. The courts will look at everything based on need. I would however question the wedding jewellery - that to me is a personal belonging so he shouldn't have an automatic claim to that

If your df didn’t get something in writing then you probably will have to write that one off. However the jewellery is a personal possession so I doubt he can claim that. But get legal advice.
