Dividing property - owned outright

Hi, this may be a really stupid question, but I am looking for guidance or information please from people who have gotten divorced and owned their property outright.

We own our property as joint tenants and have no mortgage. We have 1 DC.

I have been googling to try and get an idea, but all advice on the division of property is geared towards properties with a mortgage. I know this will vary depending on circumstances.

Thank you.

Well the division is normally on the equity in the property and you, between you, have 100% equity.

err... 50% for you, and 50% for him. Why not?

It is not as simple as 50/50 division of equity it will depend on all your assets and your individual situations regards incomes, needs etc, who will be looking after the child etc etc.
Lots to consider but you will need to look at your assets as a whole not just indivdiually (equity in property, pension, savings, ISA, shares, cash etc )
