Positive stories about separation

I’ve been having doubts about my marriage for nearly 2years. Lockdown has just reinforced to me that I think I’d be happier on my own. I have been married for 9 years, been with DH for12years and we have 2DC aged 7 and 5.
I just find my DH so exhausting. I always have to be mindful of his moods as he can create a bad atmosphere in the house. He is so negative about everything. I do all the cooking, washing, cleaning and 95% of looking after the DC (get up with them, bath time, stories etc). DH does the garden and DIY stuff. I keep thinking that as I do most stuff any way it won’t make much difference if we do split, but just how hard is it being on your own with 2 small DC? I know this is no reason to stay but I wonder whether I am underestimating how hard it will be on my own (parents live too far away to help so would be totally on my own). Thanks!
