We have agreed a 60/40 split with me taking over the mortgage payments and getting a loan to pay ex his share of equity in property and then want clean break. However, he is now asking that my share of equity in the is protected by a trust agreement incase I re-marry. Has anyone heard of this before? I feel unfair as he is getting his equity with no stipulations. For the record I am not in a relationship, he left do to unreasonable behaviour and is in a relationship, I have brought up 3 children with very little help from him. I would put something in place to protect the children inheritance if I were to remarry.
