Financial split

Hi it’s been 15mths since we separated. At the time we split our savings and pension were almost identical leaving the house as our only asset of value. Ex has gone through money like water living well beyond his means, dragging his feet on everything and continuously taking me back to court re kids. He’s now threatening to take me to court on finances despite me offering numerous times to buy him out on a 45/55split (kids reside with me and he has wasted a fortune with a gambling addiction) Clearly our financial positions now look very different and I fear being penalised for being very careful with money during the period of separation as I’ve had to be the responsible one for the children as the buck stops with me. Any experience on how the courts might look at this? I have no idea what he wants as he simply won’t engage in any negotiations

My understanding is that once the paperwork is in that’s what the settlement is based upon.
If I’m wrong I’m sure someone will correct me!

Let him take you to court then. Who is currently paying the mortgage?

So far it’s only been voluntary disclosure, no form E as the court element has only been a threat and I thought with so little in real assets this would be fairly simple.
Mortgage wise he was advised to continue paying half which he has been doing, albeit to me not directly to the bank.
