Has anyone ever bought a fail safe tracker. Whether it a physical one to place in a car or something you would put on a phone?

No judging please, I need help

I think it is illegal and you could be prosecuted for it? Might be wrong. Someone will be along soon. Hope you're OK.

WoodenHouse · 14/12/2019 15:33

I don't care. I want a good one. If you can't help, thank you anyway

I don't think legally you are allowed to put trackers on anyone's phone, body, car or personal belongings unless you get a warrant from the court (police doing an investigation for example). If the person you want to track finds out, you could end up in a lot of bother.

If you need to find out what someone is doing, take the legal route and follow them when you think they're going to a place they've lied about going to.

I did ....
I bought a tracker to track my now ex's car ...something didn't sit quite right about his behaviour and I suspected he was lying .. I was right ..
Caught him red handed ...
Marriage over ..
Please be prepared for the plan of action you intend to take should you find something out
It was easy to attach and works soundlessly giving a live google map of the cars movement

Depends on budget and what you are trying to track (e.g. easy to hid something in a car, harder on a person)
.
A new/spare smartphone (with SIM) would be one option, maybe if a friend is upgrading phone, or from amazon just search for GPS tracker.

waterSpider · 14/12/2019 15:51

e.g. spare smartphone with typical app like this:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fsp.android.phonetracker&hl=en

Basically an allegedly "find my stolen phone", type app!

Soontobe60 · 14/12/2019 16:01

What are you hoping for? To find out if your ex is seeing someone else?

lljkk · 14/12/2019 16:23

Friend was fuming the other night b/c she could see her H was in a pub. "Who is he meeting!!" she was desperate to know.

In contrast, * I * wanted him to meet someone, get off with her, never come home again. Friend is planning to divorce this guy but still obsessing what he's up to. So my impression is... if you're desperate to track them, just kick them out instead. Trust is gone already.

Leave your phone in the car on silent.

Use internet to 'track your phone'

If he finds it simply say you misplaced it.

There are also plenty GPS apps that log journeys etc so you can simply retrieve at a later date and view content.

Remember to keep an open mind about what you find.

Soon enough you'll see a pattern on it
