Separating and divorcing whilst living in the same house?

Is it doable? Has anyone here done it? Can we start divorce proceedings and still be living in the same house?

@ExcitedForFuture that sounds very similar to my ex. She made it very clear that she didn't want to be with me but didn't want me to date anyone for a whole year. Just completely controlling behaviour. If you're separated, you should be able to date whoever you want.

@atr79gb that's not on. Once you aren't together, it is no longer the other person's concern what you are doing, I remember my ex used to ask me where I was going etc. I would just reply "out". He clearly didn't like me dating as I moved on instantly. I had checked out long before and an opportunity came along which was very unexpected. Yes I do feel a bit bad and may have been a bit callous on my part, but I just wanted to get on with my life and had he moved out straight away, I would have been able to do what I liked anyway.

It is not easy. Things get very tense. And it is very stressful. When you all live in a big melting pot of the stress of divorce. Having lived like that for 18 months until recently. Hell on earth.

Take one day at a time and always focus on the step you are on.
