Financial settlement and wikivorce

Has anyone used wikivorce for help with a financial settlement? I have mediation on 18th October and have no idea what I can reasonably ask for regarding equity in the house, savings, pensions etc. Therefore I feel I need legal advice before I even enter mediation

I can see they do this for £199. Is this a one off fee that covers everything?

I have used them for my financial consent order - seem ok, they just farmed it out to a firm of local solicitors. Mine was £349 (fee depends how complicated your affairs are). We had agreed our financial split between us.

I don't about the service that wikidivorce offers but the starting point for negotiation in divorce is 50/50.

OP they were â…“ of the cost of my local solicitor for my consent order - still progressing through the process here.

I have no idea how to go about discussing pensions? Honestly have no clue. We both have a pension through work. His will be more as his wage is 56k. Mine is less as I am part time 12k. I want to look like I know what i am talking about so how do I negotiate this in mediation?

I believe I need to ask him to fill a form E out?

I will do but just wanted to see if they come with a good reputation. Would I even need to regard his pension as I am 34?!

Yes I found their advice invaluable.
But also see as many solicitors as you can who offer free 30 minute appointments.
The pensions should not be disregarded as they are a valuable asset, I imagine his especially so as he is a highish earner.

Higher earnings doesn't always mean bigger pension pot though. Stbxh earns 70k. I get about 30k. He however refused to pay into a pension until the government made him do it whereas I had paid something even when my earnings were low (retrained when kids started school). Despite the different earnings potential, his pot was less than half of mine...

Yes he’s only been paying into it from the government scheme for the last couple of years. Only a few thousand in there. Also he has 2 Isas with a couple of thousand in which are supposed to be for the children but are in his name (I’ve only just found out they are in his name) and I was wondering what my rights were to those? I know they are for the children but I have contributed towards those from Xmas/birthdays/christenings etc so would like to ask for some out of those so I can set up Isas for the children from myself

Following with interest OP as I was considering using the exact same service...I've not called them up to discuss it yet. I had a free session with a local solicitor and mentioned wikivorce and she turned her nose up about it (she warned me off using cheap internet divorce services) but she didn't actually know about thus specific provider. I thought the fact that they receive Government funding might mean they are more reputable.
