Consent order before selling the house

I'm splitting from my husband and are still living together until the house sells. I havent started the actual divorce proceedings whilst I'm in the same house as him as feel it would antagonise him. My question is , that when we sell the house although we have agreed to split the proceedings 50/50 after debts atc what if he changes his mind on the day of the exchange of contracts. I've read about a consent order but it seems you need to have actually divorced or be in the final stages of divorce in order to have one. Is there any legal document/procedure I can get done before we move to ensure I receive a fair split of the money from the house sale?

You probably need to get some form of document drawn up and signed/witnessed about what you've agreed and how the money should be distributed so that the conveyancer can release your monies. My consent order wasn't signed in time but was already going through the courts but we still needed our solicitors and us to sign a document so that they would release the funds according to what we'd agreed in consent order even though that wasn't binding yet
