Trying to get my head round financial implications of separating before we have 'the chat' tonight. He wants to split up, I don't, joint mortgage, earn similar, 1 child together, 1 step child. Trying to work out if I could afford mortgage/pay him out etc.
My question (for now, there will be many more soon I'm sure) is, I am self employed and use a cash ISA to save for my tax bill each time. So this money isn't 'savings' it's the tax bit of my income. Would this money be taken into account as an asset in divorce?
Thanks

It would be, but your tax bill is a debt that is also taken into account.
