So, have I got this right, divorcing couples get to look at everything the other spent during last 12 months as they get access to each other's bank statements?

Maybe.
If you are going to go to court then, yes. However if you are just going to do a consent order you do not necessarily have to provide full in depth disclosure like in form E. My divorce was done using a consent order for our finances and we didn't complete forms E.

Just had an initial MIAM and he advised next step is for us to complete one so will be sending them out to each of us before a first joint meeting.

I am hopeless, I got my Form E about 6 weeks ago and shoved it in a drawer!
