First over night stay

DD just gone off for her first over night stay with her dad. Sat in the car at the petrol station trying not to cry. I'm sure she'll be fine but god, this is hard.

Good luck. Don't know how old she is but she will be just fine and you will get used to it and even find it useful in terms of a night of me time. Both mine stayed with their dad after he threw me out cos I started to challenge his control. The eldest is 18 today and had a "family get together' I wasn't invited to... Lord knows what he is telling them... At least the younger one sees me a bit more but ..

Hope you had a restful night. It takes time to get use too. But it does get to be ok eventually.

I'm lucky my dd goes 1 night a fortnight. I do not begrudge her spending time with her dad. He hasn't asked or done extra nights/days. So I get to spend the majority of time with dd. So I know I fortunate.

Try making plans with friends. Keep busy. I started volunteering with the homeless to fill my time and I was able to appreciate my situation wasn't so bad after spending time with the people there.
