Self representing

I was wondering if anyone had self represented in their divorce and if so was it a successful outcome?
I don't have thousands of pounds for a solicitor but at my initial consultation she suggested I self represent. She seemed to think lots of people do it. Any thoughts please?

If it's an initial consultation why are you already deciding to go to court and the most expensive and destructive route?

I think your solicitor means instead of her representing you, you go to her for advice when necessary and pay for her to do specific things like draft the consent order.

This is to save you money.

She can also tell you - though you can easily research it - what to do when.

If you can write, follow instructions and have reading comprehension skills them you can fill in the forms yourself.
