How does Divorce Work?

Ex and I are coming up to the two years required for a no fault divorce.

I have no idea how it all works, we want to do it as amicably as possible, so no long wrangling over money/contact...etc

What exactly do we have to do regards to finances and child contact arrangements?

Finances - if you're both in agreement you can just get a consent order written up and submitted by a solicitor. It then gets 'sealed' by the court and you've got a completely clean break.

Child contact - This can be done informally if you're amicable and in agreement, most people I know just sort this out between themselves. No need to get this through court unless there's a risk one of you will be difficult in the future.

We had an 'at fault' divorce but were still amicable. The divorce petition was filed online via the government website, no solicitors at all so minimal cost. The biggest cost was the consent order as that does need to be submitted via a solicitor but it was all very straightforward and from petition being filed to absolute was 6 months.
