He has refused mediation

Can anyone advise me? Told husband almost 12 months ago that I wanted a divorce. Not a lot has happened since. Every time I mention it, there follows a period of anger and refusal to accept what I'm saying. Then he seems to act in denial, until the next time I talk about it. We have recently been to relate, again I have expressed my intention that I want a divorce. I saw a solicitor last year and in January I had a MIAM with a Mediator. But he has refused to go to have a consultation with the mediator. He is forcing me to just go to the court if its what I want.

Is there anything I can do or should suggest?

We have 2 daughters aged 12 and 10, and his son is 19.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do you have any mutual friends' who are divorced and went to court? If so see if you can get one of them to talk to him about solicitor's fees and about how the only person who wins is the solicitor.

If he still refuses then go to financial and family mediation and get the relevant forms signed.

Why are you so reluctant to just issue the petition? He can't say no forever. You'd probably have to do it on grounds of unreasonable behaviour. He wouldn't like that.

There is a new law coming, OP, thst allows you to just divorce. Just like that. You don’t need a reason, he can’t contest it, YOU divorce and that’s that.

Thanks. I’m just so worried about going to court without mediation. I would prefer to have everything discussed with regards to the children and the house. Is there any going back to mediation after you have filed the petition?
