Credit card debt

Just at the start of the divorce process. Have booked financial mediation but am a bit worried about my ex's credit card debt and whether I will be jointly liable?

He has accrued £11k worth of debt, before we separated and thinks I should be jointly responsible. Some of this is for joint things like a holiday but others are him going on a jolly for a weekend etc.

Since we split, he has booked four trips abroad and been on weekends away. He is a high earner and could easily pay a large amount off it each month but today said it is at £12k!

Anyone been in a similar situation?!

Hi
I got some legal advice today, is the card in joint names ?

I was told that at the beginning it’s just negotiations. So that means everything ..... you would have to negotiate who was liable and if that would leave you in a hardship.
I am in the same boat but I’m hoping to clear these before we go down the more formal route
He has money coming from an inheritance and as his “wife” I am entitled to half but I want these debts cleared before I start negotiating the big stuff
