Ex still getting child benefit

NC'd for this, sorry

After seperating 10 months ago my ex is still getting the child benefit.

I don't wabt contact my ex and they only get 2 hours supervised contact every fortnight.

How do I get it changed to me and get the dcs CRN numbers. HMRC child benefit line didn't seem to have that as an option.

Put in a new claim and include a computer of the CO?

Ariela · 26/03/2019 17:39

You can report changes online, via your government gateway account (which you may need to set up).

You put in your own claim and they will decide who gets it

Change who gets Child Benefit

Only one person can get Child Benefit for a child. Contact the Child Benefit Office if you want someone else to claim Child Benefit.

  • Explain you want to stop getting Child Benefit.

  • Explain who you want to get Child Benefit instead.

  • Tell the other person tomake a new claim

  • If you change your mind later, you’ll need to make a new claim yourself.

(Whatever happens you do a new claim)

Just call Child Benefit number. 10 months?!

My ex had to sign a letter from CB so it went over to me but that might be harder for you I was surprised mine did it

There's a special unit (at Newcastle ?) that deals with conflicting claims. Put a claim in and then maybe ring that office to flag up the dispute.
