We are at the stage where we are giving it 2 weeks to think if there is a way forward. H has suddenly started asking how my first day back at work was etc & making an effort. But last night he cane home & I heard him getting his passport. Asked why - apparently as we renewed them he has to show new one to HR? I am suspicious- do you think he’s seeing a solicitor?? I’ve taken advice & was wondering if so should get a petition prepared incase he calls it a day in 2 weeks but am I being over suspicious?

I don't think there's any need to instruct a solicitor just in case he does - it won't affect the outcome of the divorce. But I would be concerned that he might be opening a bank account in his sole name in order to move funds out of reach. Do you have joint savings? Who is the major breadwinner?

If he travels a lot for work I could imagine that they do need his passport number in order to make travel bookings on his behalf, so this could be exactly what he says it is.

I also would be suspicious of new bank accounts.

I agree it's for ID

I was asked for my passport in work the other day as HR had to comply with a directive about ensuring that all employees had a ' right to work ' status. This is despite seeing it when I started. Maybe it was something like that ?

He doesn’t travel much for work so def not that. Hadn’t considered the bank account scenario. He earns far more than me but savings are in his name. Having said that, my solicitor advised me that he will be required to produce a year’s bank statements if we go legal & any moved money will be queried.
