Child Maintenance Service

I'm trying to find out whether there are any private agencies tracking down non resident parents who don't pay child maintenance to their ex's? I know the CMS will sometimes send bailiffs in but given that they currently have £3.8billion worth of debt in unpaid payments on their books, that doesn't seem to have been universally effective. Does anyone know of any private initiatives or companies?

£3.8 billion?? Confused

This is a really good question fedup. I hope someone comes along & provides some hope. I have several thousand (and counting) owed to me & nothing seems to be done about it...

If CMS can trace your ex they have several ways to apply enforcement or take Legal Action. Do you know where they live and where they work? If you know their National Insurance Number that would be a big help.

Imagine that the bulk of the £3.8 billion worth of debt is attributable to NRP's who are either;

Self Employed,
Operating through Ltd Companies,
Don't live and work in the UK.

Good luck
