Impossible to say. It depends on where you live, how busy the courts are and how straightforward your paperwork is.

I was divorced by xh in 2001, West London. It took 6 weeks to decree nisi (the second one). There were no children, no dispute over assets (I didn't make any claim on anything as I just wanted it over) and we colluded to get it done ASAP.

annandale Thank you the court just served my ex the papers he’s just returned them so i wondered how it all works

You should hear from the court soon with your decree nisi date. Once you have that, you can apply for your decree absolute 43 days after. It's pretty quick and simple, it just depends on the courts workload.
