Can anyone help - having a difficult time - anyone able to tell me about mediation
-Was it useful

Useful - not particularly just moved things on a bit
Mediator - was fine, as they aren't meant to do much anyway bar guide. Mediator advised that my offer had been a very reasonable starting point but that just offended my ex and that was the end of that and £600 down the drain

@wobytide sounds like the experience DP had when getting his divorce. He went to the mediator, set everything out carefully and then his ex refused to attend. That was a few hundred quid down the drain for him as well.

Watching with interest

I am going to ask DH to reconsider relationship counsellingbefore going to mediation as mediation seems like a finality
