Hi,
My ex who I threw out for being abusive is dragging his heels about paying maintenance. It is just an amount we agreed between us and he was paying it for the first few weeks but now he’s throwing up different arguments like payment for time he spent decorating the house or keeping the garden tidy or white goods he left. He’s come up with a crazy amount for a ‘bill’ and says that’s him sorted for next 8 months. My head says it’s a load of nonesense, but I can’t put find the facts online to put him straight.
Thanks in advance.

Is he employed? If so, open a request with the Child Maintenance service. It makes no odds if he’s done the garden etc, child maintenance is for the children.

Self employed, and earns less than 10k. At least if the tax people are asking anyway...

Still needs to pay child maintenance and should want to. They are his kids. There is an on line calculator via government website
