Adultry or unreasonable behaviour?

Hello,

I am new to this board and could use some advise.

My husband who I have been with for 11 years broke up with me. A week later he decided to go stay with a male friend. I had my suspicions and finally found out he had actually picked up another woman and took her out for dinner and stayed over night in a hotel.

He insists they didn’t have sex but in my mind it’s pretty obvious that they did. How do you even go about proving this sort of thing?

Is it easier just to go for the unreasonable behaviour option?

Adultery is pretty much impossible to prove in the absence of either an admission, or a resulting baby.

Unreasonable behaviour is the way,

Unreasonable behaviour. With adultery you need pretty specific details.

I’m pretty sure spending the night with another woman in a hotel together counts as unreasonable behaviour

In my unreasonable behaviour i wrote 'inappropriate messaging of an unknown female'. Exdh was deeply unhappy about that being included, but seeing as i had seen the texts he couldnt really contest it. Go unreasonable behaviour but do include 'inappropriate behaviour with an unknown female' its true but at least you dont have to prove adultry.

My solicitor said include adultry as part of the unreasonable behaviour. Don’t name the other party though.

Don't use the word adultery, though, in a UB petition. Adultery is very specific, and requires proof the man got his penis right up the woman's foo. Seriously, there are many really prurient Victorian cases in the text books about how far up is far enough to count as adultery.

Use terms like "improper association" because that covers everything from snogging and sexting to, well, everything else.
