Stbxh and l have finally agreed on finances. My solicitor is drafting the order this week for me to approve.

Once it is sent to court how long does it roughly take before it is approved and returned to me so l can complete on my mortgage?

I have tried to google the answer but without success.

Many thanks

Depends on the court but in my area you are looking at about 4-6 weeks turnaround They are very slow.

I'm Northamptonshire.

My mortage offer expires end of March. I don't think I'm going to make itShock

Anyone else got experience of this court?

Will our ex agree to starting remortgage now anyway given everything is signed and submitted.
Mortgage co will usually extend offer so don't panic

Stbxh wants it all over with as he has run out of money so can't afford for any thing to go wrong at this stage. If his solicitors hadn't been so slow at responding to mine it could have been done by now.

How do l go about getting an extention? Do l just phone the mortgage company or does it have to come via my solicitor?

Mine went through in August with West Mids DU in Stoke. It had an error which was notified after 2 weeks. Error was corrected by my solicitor and sent back within 48 hours. The order was approved within a week (my solicitor did chase them when she sent the corrected paperwork back)

Wasdoingfine, i am northants too and am waiting for east midlands divorce unit to see if they have received the acknowledgement of service from ex husband. They were posted on 11th dec, my solicitor says they are about 20 days behind with everything at the moment.

Does anyone know how l can get an extention on my mortgage offer?

Speak to your solicitor. One option would be to proceed with the remortgage before the consent order us approved by the Court. The risk is the court doesn't approve the order but providing the order isn't very unfair to one party, then this is unlikely.

WasDoingFine · 07/01/2018 07:52

The mortgage company won't proceed until they have all the paperwork from court

UPDATE:

Stbxh has signed the Mortgage Transfer even though we don't have the Court Order yet.

Does anyone know what happens now?

Nearlythere35 · 30/01/2018 21:37

You don't need the court order to proceed with the transfer as per my message above. But you should have both signed the order before you proceed. I think you should speak with your solicitor ASAP to discuss

UPDATE: mortgage completed yesterday. .... it's all mine Grin
