Decree Nisi - why so long?

Hello,

If anyone could shed some light on this I'd be v grateful.
Ex applied for Decree Nisi end of October, I called the court end of November and apparently it was with the Judge as of 22nd December. And according to the centre today, it still is.
Realise mine is not the only divorce, but does anyone know how long it can sit with the Judge for?

It's really frustrating. We're going under long separation of over 2 years.

Thanks for any advice.

How can it be with the judge as of 22 December when it's only 15 December?

Sorry, I meant 22 November Blush

Usually just because courts are so busy, judges have huge amounts of paperwork to deal with between/after hearings and part of that is to consider applications for decree nisi.
Once the judge has signed it, it'll be in a pile of paperwork for staff to deal with & eventually notice of the date for decree nisi will get sent out to you.

Not sure how long was till Nisi was issued but few years back when I divorced my ex (same scenario as you) we started proceedings in October and I got Absolute in March.
