Rings - when to take them off?

Hi. I am newly separated but (so far)!amicably living in the same house with H and DD.

When is the best time to stop wearing my rings (wedding, engagement, eternity)?

I love my rings as prices of jewellery and ideally would not stop wearing them but as symbols of marriage and being married they are no longer true.

What have others done and have you worn them on other fingers?

Yes, Across, it is! Think of "the breakup haircut" ;) I really want to make drastic changes to my appearance, but I think I will regret it, and so far I have only done more subtle things, like I have started getting my eyebrows dyed and waxed, and I am thinking of getting an LVL lash treatment.

can they be stretched a bit to fit the other hand (ie a size or 2)
or do they need melting down?

I took mine off over a year ago. I haven't felt in a relationship for longer than that and we are still living together although have agreed to separate. H is terrible for not facing up to anything, which is why we are where we are! It felt right to take them off and I will probably sell them for a pittance somewhere. They weren't expensive, my H moaned about how much they cost in the first place then bought himself a massive platinum band which he still wears. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

I took mine off about 5 years before I told my ex that we were done

Our marriage should have finished years before it actually did

After I told him it was over, I moved into the office (to use as my bedroom)

At first it was ok but after a while became too much so the house got sold

I’m now in my own house with the children and it’s brilliant
