I've an appointment in the morning with solicitor to do application for decree absolute.

Who rang me on Tuesday to say break out the champagne as the consent order had come back approved.

I could be divorced finally this time next week. It has been a long 13 months.

My EA X still lives in house which is on market and we are in process of changing agents. DD and I moving abroad as soon as we can exchange.
Still so much stress and living in same house as him to go that I just don't feel celebratory yet.

But, yes, one step closer.

It's a process.!

Hardest bit was the decision.

Then just grit your teeth and push through the different stages.

Still got to find buyer and work out logistics and timing of emigrating and deal with uncertainties of house selling.

And then work out how to go about being me again after 27 years being slowly ground down.

My nisi is 14th November. Exactly 5 mths to the day that we split. Could be over by the new year

My solicitor reminded me that date of my nisi was back in January. Arsehole delayed everything he could. Mediation was probably better than court timewise but I think I'd have got a better deal in court.
Would have been quicker if he'd have moved out too.
In hindsight I should have called police the night I had his hands around my throat, got him out and arrested but the conditioning is strong....

Be thankful you have started the ball rolling. Don't let any delays that you haven't foreseen put you off.

STBX is being sent a proposal for finances within the next two weeks by my solicitor. So hopefully he will accept it

I have been accused of that several times. Even more so after my solicitor requested a Form E to be completed. AMAZING what pop's up on one of them...

We can't actually get on with the rest of our lives until then. We still have to live with him
