How will Cafcass know my exes horrid allegations and statements about me are just vindictive lies, or will they just believe him? Sad

He's a registered alcoholic but since finding out about me being in a new relationship he's doing anything and everything to get at me, even made a false allegation to SS the other week, which they saw right through thank God.

Will Cafcass just take his word for everything and take my kids away from me? SadSadSad

Sorry to hear you're having to deal with this. People have varying views of cafcass. In my experience, they were very good in 'reading' my ex and highlighting that he had anger issues that were impacting his view of me. He told all sorts of lies about me, and they didn't buy any of it. I think it all boils down to which officer works on the case. Hang in there, and focus on what's best for your children, and less on any feelings about your ex or your experiences with him.

A lot also depends on which judge you get. Ours didn't seem to pay much attention to the cafcass report and relied mainly on what came up in court, his gut, his past experiences of similar cases etc. I still walked out feeling he was focused on a fair outcome for both parties. Good luck!
