He wants the house either sold or me to buy him out. I don't have the income to do that. I can't bear the thought that my boys are going to loose their home.

My understanding is that priority is given to any minor children, and I would've thought that would be particularly relevant if your son is autistic, but the final outcome will ultimately depend on "need" and "affordability", so a lot hinges on your respective financial circumstances.

Hope the appointment with your solicitor offered some clarity

I had hoped to be able to offset my share of his pension against his share of the equity in the house.... which is about the same - so a 50/50 split. But she said they can't really be compared as a pension isn't "ready" money and he is entitled to cash now.
