Mutual friends

STBX and I seperated in June after 20 years and two children.

He is renting a house and has the children alternate weekends.

Reason we split is because I found messages from another woman. He is now officially with her and they all spend time together.

What I'm finding difficult is the acceptance that friends and family have with this.

He puts photos of their days out on Facebook and mutual friends have "liked" them. I just feel so betrayed by them and the inlaws that they can so readily accept their relationship.

Am I just bitter and twisted that I feel let down by those friends?

YANBU. I think anyone would find this very hard. Distance yourself tactfully and find new friends.

My own friends have been great and a huge support - even though they got to know him too after all these years and haven't "liked" any of his posts.

It's just the one's that are mutual. I have chatted to a couple of them about what happened and the lies that I have been told. I then find out that they chat to him too ans he has told at least one that he is so happy now. She responded by saying how great that is and life's too short etc

This situation is tough but at the end of the day you can only concern yourself with things you have control over this is probably awkward for the mutual friends. People forget about our pain very quickly when this happens so try not to get hung up on it .maybe stay clear of Facebook for a while.good luck

I would avoid talking to mutual friends about the situation or your ex; they will at best feel conflicted and worst will increase the drama. You won't get the validation you want IME.

Honestly just stay off Facebook. It is the worst invention in the world. Stop dwelling on him and his life. It's irrelevant to you now. Don't torture yourself with this.

Concentrate on your future. For you. Find your own happiness. You will get there.
