What have you done with your wedding rings?

My H left in December after I found out about his affair. Very traumatic divorce followed. Still not divorced but getting closer to it and starting to set up a new life for me and my children.

I want to sell my engagement and wedding ring to pay towards work on our new house. I've looked into selling them through an auction as I thought that may bring in the most money as oppose to pawning them. However, they didn't value them as much as I'd hoped.

Has anyone done this recently? Am I just being unrealistic and should have them auctioned? Or is there a more lucrative alternative I hadn't thought of?

My sister sold hers and bought a lovely ring for her other hand.

My Aunt took all rings from two marriages and two other engagements and designed three pieces of jewellery as a mark of moving forward.

I wear mine on a necklace. Not really sure why TBH but at the time it felt right and since then I've never had a reason to stop. Maybe when I've worked that out I'll hand it down to a DC
