Hi mums,
I'm new to here but have registered as I need some advice. I'm currently going through a divorce. Well, trying to. I co-own a house with my soon-to-be-ex husband and I don't have a regular income (i have a job that starts in a month). I'm really struggling with many things, and wonder if anyone has some advice.
- It was me who initiated separation three months ago - since then there has been no progress on anything really. He won't move out (we don't have much money) and has control (because i slacked off of the control part while i had kids) of the finances including all the mortgage information so i've no idea what to do next. we need to sell the house but he wants to start mediation first before we put it on the market but i really feel like we need to move apart NOW (or three months ago, but now) and no idea how to do this without his cooperation.
- My stb ex husband is still very hung up on me, tells me he loves me and i'm beautiful and many things, nice things, but i've no idea how to deal with this because i am absolutely certain (for reasons that are understandable but that i don't want to go into here) that divorce from him is what i want and what's best for me and the kids (and probably him in the long run too).
- i literally feel like i have nothing - no money (even though i know our money is shared money as we're still married) and no control of anything practical.
I just wondered if anyone has been in this situation before and how they dealt with it? i feel like i'm going crazy living with this person who refuses to move out (i can't move out as i literally have no money of my own) or to help me and the kids move out (before we sell the house).
