Draft petition

I've finally received the draft of the divorce petition from my STBX solicitor. It contains some points that are factually incorrect so I will ask for those to be amended, but there are also some items where it only tells one side of the story. I'm not surprised but I would like to state my side as well.

Does anyone have experience of responding to a draft?

Does it go back and forth for me to review the changes, or is this a one time opportunity?

Is it worthwhile me refuting the allegations even if it is only to my STBX solicitor? At least then, it can't be said that I accepted them and used in the future.

I know that the statements are not taken into account but some of them are a bit far fetched.

We've been told that you can write somewhere that you don't agree with the allegations but that you don't intend to contest it. My X is planning to do this. The only people that will ever see it are you 2, your solicitors and the judge so I don't think it really matters what is on it.

Yes i think on your acceptance form you can write that you don;t agree with his statement, but that you are not contesting the divorce.

i don't think you can force your exh to amend the draf (its his petition). Although you could tell him you won't sign anything until its amended. No one reads the divorce petition anyway.
