Delaying divorce

Can I ask my solicitor to shelve my divorce proceedings for a certain length of time for whatever reason?
Has anyone had any experience of this?

I've had no experience personally, but my divorce was very long and drawn out, divorce was not finalised until 2 years after the decree nisi. The judge asked my solicitor why and made no comment. It depends on what stage your divorce is at I would imagine and if the other party was in agreement with the delay.

Did you petition? If so you can delay before absolute. If your ex started proceedings they have to hold it up.

Not for long though. After a certain amount of time time the respondent can apply.

Yes it's me that filed. I'm thinking I've done this in haste. My solicitor is waiting on his financials and then plans to apply for the Nisi.
