Txt content with DS when on bail

Man arrested and bailed for DV.

He's out of house and not allowed to see wife and kids unless 3rd party present.

He's been txting the DS. Wife called police to check this is allowed and was told yes, as long as he's not passing messages to wife.

Is this right? He's telling DSs all manner of things.

It is likely to be right in so far as he's not breaching his bail conditions by doing it. However that doesn't mean the wife can't choose not to allow it, and block his number on the DS's phone, assuming DS is a child.

Wouldn't bail conditions for these situations include not contacting DS in any way?
