Who pays?

So separated for 5 years and I want to finally divorce. I know he'd never instigate it so I know I'll have to. Because of this will it be me that has to pay for it all?

You will each be responsible for your own legal fees, is that what you mean?

If you mean the fee for the divorce petition (£550) the petitioner has to pay. You can put on the form that you want him to cover the fees (he will reimburse you), but he can just say no. If he's not bothered about it then you may find it hard to get him to contribute at all.
