How to manage a separation

Am thinking of trial Sep from husband .
How on earth is it manageable in same house as one of us can't afford to rent elsewhere ????

In reality it isn't possible, one of you has to get out. I've never heard of a 'trial' separation where the couple stayed together either. Sorry, Gin.

1. One of you moves in with family/friends.
2. You rent out the house to cover the mortgage and both move out.
3. You sell the house.

You can't have a 'trial separation' while living together.

Sympathies with you OP.

Unless you can live in separate rooms in the house and act as single people, it's difficult. Could you consider the house as dc's, and whoever is looking after them stays there? You could jointly rent somewhere else for the other one to stay?

That's complicated though, probably easiest if you can rent the house and each get your own place.

It's tough Gin, sorry to hear you are in this position. I ended up moving out and paying rent on a room while continuing to pay the mortgage. The house is now sold stc and am currently paying 2 mortgages. I'm going to be ruined financially with this as well as the solicitors bills for the divorce. It's not an easy or fair route to get out of a bad marriage I'm afraid.

Have talked to dh who has agreed go to holiday inn for a few nights to give space
He has told me that he has not been himself for years and has lost sight of himself and that his aloof attitude is linked to poor self esteem
