Quite simply don't agree if you feel it's not right for you.

It's not binding but have phrases such as you will consider proposal.
It's useful to know what is deemed reasonable so have knowledge on that.If mediation fails and your H pursues court then the judges tend to give reasonable access so it might cost you money to get something you could have given at the outset.

Do you expect there to be significant differences between what he wants and you want?

TimesTheyAreAChanging · 13/01/2017 11:17

No not really. I think he will want them overnight but I won't agree to that. I have asked for visits to take place at an access centre so he is supervised. I have valid reasons for this and I am not being awkward. I am thinking 5 hours one day at the weekend as long as he has a relative agree to accompany him.

If you have concerns about child welfare, let the mediator know. Presumably problems with his behaviour/health is backed up by evidence at social services/GP?

Good luck. Let us know the outcome.

Thanks - I have already informed the mediator when I met her last week. I will reiterate it today.

Contact centres can't usually give 5 hour sessions!

Porffor · 13/01/2017 16:58

Hope you get on well.

TimesTheyAreAChanging · 13/01/2017 17:38

How much time is reasonable? He is demanding every weekend and a day through the week.

So EOW weekend and 1 night is standard. If he goes to court Cafcass will be assigned to determine what are the risks.Judges act on their recommendations usually.

TreeTop7 · 13/01/2017 20:14

All weekend, every weekend? He is asking too much, surely.

Blushingm · 13/01/2017 22:19

Mine asked for that too

Mediator said eow Friday evening til Saturday evening to start with

TimesTheyAreAChanging · 13/01/2017 23:01

Blush was that every weekend or alternate weekends?

OP posts:
Blushingm · 14/01/2017 12:11

He wanted every weekend all weekend

He's currently got every other from Friday evening to Saturday evening

TimesTheyAreAChanging · 14/01/2017 20:14

Thanks Blushing that sounds fairer.

OP posts:
Blushingm · 15/01/2017 00:57
