DIY divorce - any advice?

Has anyone done a DIY divorce i.e .without using a solicitor? If so any tips? A friend of mine is divorcing her husband in what they hope will be an amicable way - no kids. Thanks.

Me and my ex had planned on doing that but it's alarming how quickly things can escalate and you need a solicitor. We have no kids either, just a house, but my god people change when they're going through a divorce. He did anyway!

I did. Amicable situation, 3 years post split. No financial ties and 50/50 shared childcare arrangement already agreed between us. Quick, simple and cheap.

Recommend it. Much cheaper!! Very easy to complete the paperwork to from court.

I did my divorce myself. Had issues with exh not signing ANY paperwork but court were very helpful and gave good advice.
