My husband and I have been working on issues for a few months now but my husband decided on Friday that it's done. We have an 18 month old daughter together, and things are not ending on bad terms. We have decided that I will live in our house and he will find a unit nearby so he is able to help out with our daughter and spend time with her.
We have very complicated finances, with 5 properties and a business etc, and have decided for now that all finances will stay as is while we work out what's happening.

Has anyone done this successfully?

We still have all wages etc going into one joint account and all bills setup to pay out of there, so we are both aware what is happening with our money.

As we have decided to work together on this, should I still be talking to a solicitor? I really have no idea what to do now

You need legal advice asap. Once a marriage ends you cease to be partners who have each other's best interests at heart, and you cannot really trust him any more.

How involved are you in the business and property portfolio? You need to make sure you are completely up to speed on assets, accounts, debts etc. Can your stbxh make fundamental business changes or sell any of the properties without your signature? If he can you are potentially quite vulnerable financially.

I would be taking legal advice it would be sensible to. Things may be very amicable now and may even stay that way but in my experience once you start to live spectate lives it all becomes more
Complicated and it would be easier to get Hingis legally separated asap
