I'm divorced! I had to read the letter twice, all that work for a flimsy piece of paper? I'm so relieved, It's done.

Congratulations! I've been divorced 3 years this year! Amazingly the week after our divorce came through he got engaged to his new wife, who was the woman he swore he didn't even know never mind was in a relationship with.

Ah the relief of getting that decree absolute. Get some champers (or other drink of your choice) and celebrate!

I also got a letter yesterday, I was expecting some kind of stamped certificate of some kind

Can I ask how long you had to wait to get the magic piece of paper after applying for the absolute?

Have you also finalised the finances through a court sealed consent order? If not it is not really over yet at all and the hardest bit is yet to come.

Hi, it was about a week between applying and getting the absolute. We had no shared assets as we had already sold the house.

It arrived today. Was granted the same day as arrived at court and a week for the admin to send out. Another milestone but still a sad day.

It,s the biggest one in town

Thank you iffy. New problem. We still live in same house. Knock on door last night. Policeman there. Have got now XH. Won't say why other than he was worse for wear and would not be home tonight. Fortunately kids were asleep. Only just. Now 8am. Not home. Racking my brains as to what he has done. They don't arrest you for being drunk alone. Must have done something. Fight? Criminal damage? Drugs? Although not my problem been awake all night. Kids will be awake soon as see he is not home. Don't know what to do.
