Mortgage

My husband has a house solely in his name (bought 1.5 years after marriage with joint contribution) and we bought 5 months ago in both names. I'm paying for mortgage on second home alone and he pays for the first house alone.

I would like to keep the second house if we divorce. He helped with deposit on my house so we are even financially. But my concern is how it works with the lender? What happens to the mortgage on our joint house?

Ideally you just remortgage in your own name - will you get through the affordability checks?

No, the loan amount is too high for my salary so I will not pass affordability tests. Although I'm paying monthly mortgage and all bills on my own.
