DIY divorce..?

I have been separated for 2 years now, so I would like to start divorce proceedings for desertation. (He left)
There's no property involved but we do have children together. We have an agreement in place for access and child maintenance so no problems.
We both agreed that I will be filing against him for desertation and that there will be no mud throwing so to speak so we can just get it done and have it over with. If prefer to use a solicited but I can only just afford the court fees so it will be a DIY job. Will this be relatively easy as we have already agreed on things to do with the children? Has anyone else been in a similar situation and sailed through it quickly and easily?
Thanks.

Ah yes, I completely forgot the separation of 2 years, that's what I should have wrote, thank you. I had a look at the forms last night on the gov website, it looks mostly straightforward, I think I'm just nervous about making sure I get it all right.
